I knew someone older who had too much to drink during a football game. He was very successful professionally, had a wife and two young children. He had an accident and the passenger in a car he hit lost her unborn child. He was sent to prison, lost his marriage etc. I just think as a society we tend too laugh off alcoholic driving like some little white lie when all too frequently peoples lives are ruined, many of whom innocent. So if putting a couple hundred thousand in jail for a couple of weeks ends up saving 20,000 lives i think its a small price to pay.

Fact is you knew enough to drive slowly. Paris didnt know enough to hire a driver after her license had been suspended for DWI, that should tell you something about her state of mind. Would you really trust her not to drink and drive again?
