"seeking as much pleasure, property, power, and influence in the world as possible for the benefits those things offer in and of themselves." I don't think I've met many people who are not seeking those things in and of themselves.

I haven't met any other kinds of people either, including my self. However, there was more to what I said. The part about believing in eternity or not, modifies that statement.

You need to keep better company. And while kids will lie to stay out of trouble on occasion....if yours are lying "constantly" then you need to learn to parent better...

"Children lie constantly." mine don't. My kids rarely lie if ever. Even when they get in trouble they tell us the whole story.
