It seems fine to me. I repackaged it as soon as I got it home. Since I bought all dark meat, it was 8 drums and 8 thighs. I package one each in baggies and quick freeze them in my refrigerator. In about another hour they'll be firm enough that I'll repackage them for my FoodSaver, which vacuum seals them without air. They'll stay fresh in my deep freeze nearly as long as I want to leave them there. When needed, I let the package thaw in my refrigerator overnight, then nuke it when I'm ready to eat. Been doing it like that for years and it's always been fine. If you don't have a FoodSaver, you need one. Best appliance I ever bought. A real money saver, to boot.
