WHERE in my post did I say the threats that those guys posed were "meaningless"? You clearly said the threats weren't serious because the plotters were too stupid to be very dangerour: They were just like the Florida bombers that were going to bring down the Sears Tower, if only they could get some SHOES and other stuff first. These guys were cab drivers and pizza delivery guys just trying to act like big time tough guys. You said their plots were "idiot aspirations" and worrying about these people uld draw attention from "serious people" making serious threats. You seem to think if plotters aren't super agents or something they're not a threat. As you noted later in your latest post even the 911 guys weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. You don't need to be an Einstein to pull off a terror attack. If the FBI had been doing even a reasonable job, those 9/11 guys would never have gotten on to planes in the first place. Why? Should the FBI be following all Arabs in the country or something? Turns out the CIA knew some of the 911 people were in the country and had terror ties but didn't tell the FBI because of a "wall" between criminal enforcement and counter-terror intelligence erected by the Justice Dept during the Clinton adm. BTW if the 911 hijackers had been picked up before the attack, folks on the left would be saying similar things about them. That they're just a bunch of losers who weren't much danger anyway. weren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer. The one guy took flying lessons and said he didn't care to learn to take off or land, only fly the plane. Several of them were already on watch lists. The President was given an intelligence analysis that said "bin Laden may use commercial aircraft to attack". Sheeessh, I'm NOW supposed to feel secure that they catch a few ne'er do wells that were infiltrated and GOADED by informants??? I'm ALL for security measures, but I want someone with "integrity" and NO political affiliations to oversee anything that infringes on my rights as an American.
