I understood her point (and in the larger sense, of tolerating bad government for a long, long time... she's certainly correct). It was simply a mistake, or an oversight or some such, to imply no revolution for independence for them. (Hell... didn't they actually have two times they chased out the 'fureners'? Else we'd still be talking about the King of Spain in his new world lands... or the French Emperor --- 'cause they later kicked Napoleon's boys out of the halls of Montezuma too. :-)
