the good paying mfg jobs are gone for the most part. they were overpaid , unions stuck with high demand, corporations gave them what ever they wanted as long as they were selling products and making money. When competition came along they all crashed because the unions didn't want to give back any wages or benefits and the corporations didn't want to invest huge capital to bring the facilities up to competition. it was easy to outsource or build new plants in other countries which also gave them great tax benefits, sometime none for a decade. illegals had nothing to do with the above suicide mission our corp and unions faced.
