What do you think happens when we use the military even in limited roles, like in New Orleans? There is a curfew. The military has been used in a number of domestic situations without imposing a curfew. If there was one in NO, then it likely would have been there even without active duty regular military involvement. A plane carrying Cat Stevens was not allowed to land in the US. It landed in Newfoundland and forced Cat Stevens to leave the plane; then it went on to Boston. Cat Stevens is a singer who converted to Islam, not a known terrorist. Do you think that is a normal action in a democracy? Tim, you have a history of believing whatever they tell you. When the war was going badly, Bush/Cheney insisted everything was fine and you agreed, and berated myself and others for thinking otherwise. You really believe these people know better than the rest of us what is happening. Since Bush/Cheney took over there have been small changes to the law that restrict our freedoms. In addition, they have taken liberties that the law does not allow. The GOP Congress went along with it like little puppy dogs trying to please their master. I am not saying this is Hitler's Germany but there is enough things to warrant concern. It doesn't help that are media is controlled by corporate America who has a vested interest in keeping anything negative about the gov't under the table.
