The WH, via AP/Yahoo News, was saying this afternoon that Bush put his hand behind his back to allow one of his secret service guys to take off his watch and they apparently provided photos that show that. Haven't seen them yet, however.

Kind of spoils a funny story, I think.

OTOH, it would be rather embarrassing to the secret service (and to Albania) if it were true.

OK, that's where I suspected the theft occurred, but since I didn't actually see it being removed I wasn't sure.

Anyway, thanks for posting. It was both funny (the Prez getting pinched) & the overtly adoring crowd was something nice to see (since the MSM would never allow that type of coverage).

Saw a vid on the news last night from the opposite angle. It looks like Bush pulled his left arm back, slipped the watch off and put it in his right front pocket. Very quickly, as if he's done it a thousand times.
