Delta Acquires Four Uranium Permits in Niger
Tuesday June 12, 2:33 pm ET

KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 12, 2007) - Delta Exploration Inc. ("Delta") (TSX VENTURE:DEV - News) has acquired four prospective uranium permits in Niger, West Africa with the recent signing of Conventions with the Government of Niger. The permits, Telwa 2, Telwa 3, Gada 3, and Gada 4, cover 1941.2 square kilometres of the southern portion of the Tim Mersoi sedimentary basin. The permits are located near the city of Agadez, approximately 800 kilometres northeast of Niamey, the capital of Niger. The area is accessible by paved road and charter aircraft.

The Republic of Niger is the fourth largest uranium producer in world. The Tim Mersoi basin hosts numerous roll front type, sandstone-hosted uranium deposits. Niger is a French-speaking, stable, and democratic country with a modern mining code, recently updated.

Delta plans to evaluate these uranium permits through a staged program of airborne geophysics, including radiometric and electromagnetic surveys, regolith mapping and ground checks of all geophysical anomalies. Delta has recently opened an exploration office in Niamey with the aim of commencing exploration in the coming weeks.

A cash payment of $20,000 per permit was paid to an arms' length party for introducing Delta to the prospects.
