Post invasion the oil production of Iraq is lower than what it was before the war... Once again, it's not mainly about Iraqi oil, and it was a long term consideration. Your looking at all the bad things that exist now (and perhaps exaggerating some of them), then since in your opinion things will only get worse, your seeing this as at best, the net result (and at worse just the beginning, from which things will get much worse). I don't agree. We could have kept saddam in check forever. The inspections regime had been having difficulty for some time. The sanctions regime was beginning to fall apart.
