The Republicans may run now but they cannot hide. They had all rallied around a moron when they had better folks like McCain etc. My sense is that the conservatives will not come out in 2008 even if Thompson enters the race. Should this happen, then Romney is the Republican nominee. I say this because Romney has done a better job that Guiliani in putting forth his conservative credentials by backing off on issues such as abortion etc. On the Democrats' side, the "Clinton machine" has so far been hard at work to kick up some Obama dirt in a clandestine way. But, we have wait to until fall for the anti-Clinton, anti-dynasty forces to surface and remind the voters about "Vince Foster mystery", "the politics of personal destruction by the Clintons such as with Monica Lewinsky" etc. etc. My 2 cents this Thursday morning.
