No it does not take away their freedom....they can still voice their opinion; they can still vote; they can still demonstrate... Freedom is not limited to demonstrating, voicing your opinion, voting, and acting under explicit constitutional rights. YES, YOU DO! We are as close to a pure capitalistic model as possible and you are still not happy. We are VERY far from a pure laissez-faire capitalist model in the US. It doesn't work. That's why we had so many severe economic contractions before the Great Depression. We also had an explosion of economic growth, and the lot of the little guy greatly improved.
