This isn't a post to boast the strong economy or to celebrate another in a long line of monthly reports showing rising tax receipts & a shrinking deficit. No, this is just another example of liberal media bias. Once again they have failed to make this regular report part of their headlines showing the success of the tax cuts & good economic policies simply because this president is a Republican.

Federal Deficit Sharply Lower

Dashing ever more Democratic hopes, the economy continues strong, and that means that the federal budget deficit collapses faster than a Democrat faced with a President Bush determined to win in Iraq:

<<< More money coming in than going out has the federal budget deficit running sharply lower through the first eight months of this fiscal year.

The Treasury Department says the deficit through May came to 148 and a-half (b) billion dollars down more than 34 percent from a year ago...

...For the budget year ending September 30th, the Congressional Budget Office is projecting a federal deficit of 177 (b) billion down almost 29 percent from last year's shortfall, which had been the lowest in four years. >>>

As I've said before, if it doesn't balance in FY 2008, it will in FY 2009.

I'd like to take this moment to say to liberals: On economics, you guys are a bunch of dimwits.

I'd like to take this moment to say to conservative critics of the President's economic policies: Hey, he doesn't set how much gets spent, but he has held the line and lowered taxes, so how about a bit of credit where credit is due?
