My father, who is a city attorney for a smallish Michigan town, once prosecuted a guy for drunk driving. Police discovered this car in a cul de sac. When they went to investigate, the car abruptly pulled away. At trial, the guy's story was that he had been drinking and his girlfriend had not, so she'd been driving. They stopped to have an intimate moment, and the police came along. He was so surprised and embarassed, he hopped behind the wheel and drove off. Jury let the guy off.
