Wonder if E.J.Dionne is a Republican, Democrat or what.

One thing for sure Dionne is a product of the Washington Post that has rarely seen a Republican that it praised or endorsed.

Bush read Iraq and the mid East and the war on terrorism correctly.

Both Bush and the Democrat controlled Congress failed to address the issue of immigration as the people wished-----part of this is political-----the Democrats want to demonstrate their inclusiveness to garner the Hispanic vote in 2008 and the Muslim vote. Bush wants to hold to his early ideas on immigration and working with Mexico.

Immigration is a part of the complex issue of terrorism.
Americans understand this.

The Democrat candidates need some excellent solutions on these major issues or they won't be elected.

Republicans have the lead on these issues regardless of Bush's lack of support for parts of the immigration bill.
