That's an interesting thought. Does TV erode religion? Not in the US, apparently. I'm inclined to think that the televangelists have used TV to expand their flocks, and now the rate of belief is higher there than in any other industrialized country. On the other hand, most TV product comes from "Christian" countries, therefore if it allowed into Muslim countries it might well cause allegiances to shift.

TV also fosters new belief systems - belief in UFOs, for example. Is it better to believe in UFOs or in Allah/God? The will to believe is very powerful, and people will find something unbelievable to believe in.
