The US auto makers are in trouble solely because of the UAW. That's just one reason. All auto makers, including foreign, are going to be in a world of hurt in the near future (see Congress and green hysteria). Even Toyota (see July 2007 Motor Trend) is sweating. They've stopped development on the next gen Camry while waiting to see what sort of nonsense that the politicians will mandate (see the current "energy" bill being cobbled together by Washington DC pinheads).
