Of course this "freedom of the press" does not equate to accuracy: there's plenty of distortion, omission, hype, and spin in the US media. But the information freedom does give us a chance to obtain news and info from a variety of sources (including *uncensored* blogs, wikipedia, google, etc) and compare them for a better picture.
