That's the way I see it, indeed, from the Israeli point-of-view, a master stroke. Abbas makes a government and the US, Europe and UN immediately "recognize" it as the "legitimate" government of the Palestinians -- notwithstanding that the Palestinians didn't cast one vote for it. Abbas then concludes a "peace deal" with Israel, conceding all of Jerusalem and most of the West Bank to Israel. In return for a Nobel peace Prize and a few million in his pocket, the Palestinians who were driven out in the Nakba then lose all rights to any claim for reparations or right of return.

If no one gives a shit what the US electorate wants why should anyone care what the Palestinians want. That's called the "new" democracy.

> Separate Hamas into one small area, (Gaza Strip), cut off their weapons supply and then blow the hell out of the Gaza Strip.

Anything is possible. Starvation is another option.

> Wonder who set this deal up to provoke war between Hamas and reward the Fatah movement?

They've been working on it for a long time. The US and Israel armed and trained Fatah and Abbas sold his soul years ago.

> Bet Bubba is lathering at the mouth over this.

Why, do you think Olmert and Dubya will get Nobel Peace Prizes and Bill will miss out?!
