Hagel never declared as a candidate and probably sees that a candidacy like Paul's will get attention but not really go anywhere. Hagel may be better off not ruffling any feathers in 2008 and holding out for 2012 if the Reps get their clock cleaned running a pro-war candidate in 2008.

Reading this I was reminded of Hagel. He seems to have disappeared as has his effort to run for President?

I thought of Hagel as well. He used to pair up with Biden a fair bit on talk shows, but that has stopped in the last year or so. I think he is sick of it all. He was in Vietnam, and knows what utterly senseless war is about. And knows that this is an even bigger disaster than Vietnam, because of that 3 letter word that rhymes with "roil".
