I don't really see the point you've been trying to make all along. He is an amateur pursuing a dream. One who worked to achieve it and with the amateur show providing an opportunity. I don't see that the show (per the clip we all saw) depicted him inaccurately and I don't think anyone would have been misled into thinking he hadn't studied and worked a great deal to develop his talent. the publicity failed to point that out, but chose to try to portray him as all dream- as if he woke up singing in Italian I think this was mostly in your mind.
