She is in the publicity/ratings business.

That's another plausible explanation, although it assumes she doesn't really believe it. My gut tells me that Nadine is correct that she really believes it, which would make her, if not nuts, at least severely cognitively disabled.

But is she sold as a "nut"? From what I understand she had one and only one person opposing her viewpoints on the View. And her views were the ones receiving applause.
