"Cognitively disabled" doesn't refer to simply a lack of ability to reason, it refers to dysfunctions caused by such impairments as mental retardation (often caused by infections, Down's Syndrome, premature birth, birth trauma, or lack of oxygen), language and learning disabilities (presumed to be due to central nervous system dysfunction), head injury, stroke, Alzheimer's, and such. While the inability to be a critical thinker is often due to cognitive disability, it's more often due to being miseducated. And to the point: When you say things like... "Being anti-Bush or anti-Republican or anti-conservative or anti-war is not the same thing as being anti-American. If she were anti-American, she would have been railing at previous administrations, too." ...I totally agree with you. So there. s So she's "not at all" "cognitively disabled" but rather "not (a) critical thinker." I'm big on differentiating but I can't find any space between those two phrases let alone enough to warrant a "not at all." Do you see any distinction or is it just against your religion to say "I agree." <ggg>
