Democrats took to the floor to wail about the 'long Afghan winter' or give lectures on how Afghanistan has never been conquered in all of history by an invading army, and we were sure to get bogged down in a quagmire if we tried it. I wonder how many of them now say they supported the invasion all along... I'm not sure that's "anti-American", in the sense of wanting bad things to happen to America, or hating America. OTOH it's being pessimistic about America and its capabilities, and in some cases probably reflects a negative view of the current state of America. One may certainly oppose such viewpoints, but I'm not sure I'd actually call the viewpoints anti-American.
