Americans are getting shorter.

They obviously did this because of an Op-Ed in last week's NYT by Krugman on the subject. He blamed it on the Republicans. :>)

Krugman is about 5'5" tall.

I find it hard to believe the average man is 5'6" or that we are getting shorter. I'm 6'3 and was one of the tallest kids in HS in the 70's. I walk through the HS today and I am far from the tallest. And as for 5'6 I don't know many men that short.
