Bush proposed "choice", which is better than mindlessly
locking-in historically low long-term yields!

I'm sure that, in addition to stocks, the "choices" for your
individual Social Security account would have included a
money-market or short-term bond fund (not unlike a CD),
which is similar to what 401K plans offer.

Believe it or not, you currently have NO LEGAL RIGHT
to receive any Social Security benefits in return for
all of the contributions that you have made during
your working career!

This was decided by the Supreme Court in 1960:
