Yes, they told me that it was only charged on a few stocks.

And they specifically indicated that in the case of Goldquest, it was related to TDWterhouse being the market maker.

Not sure how a junior can avoid this type of treatment but it sure puts the brakes on their trading in the US.

They advised calling the international desk before trading.

That is not how I trade.

I will simply check to se if there is this tariff on any given issue, and avoid those stocks.

There are too many that are not encumbered in this fashion to mess with it.

I think in the long run, just not trading in the
affected issues will be the easiest for me.
