Also, there is no indication (color) that a message has been read or not. That was a very useful feature for locating where one was in reading through a string of thread comments.

Yes, it really irritating when you are going through unread notes on a tread, and there are twenty in a row from posters you don't care to read... so you are rapidly hitting the "next". All of a sudden the same spot changes to "back".

I like the arrows. But then again I'm not ambidextrous!

However, one thing I really don't like about the arrows is that they are biased against the ambidextrous. All the arrows should point in all directions.

Good idea! And adding color should greatly benefit those posters that are color blind, not that anyone here is color blind...
