Only a remnant of Israel will be saved? Who, then is Israel? Are you now saying that only a remnant of the church will be saved????? If you're not saying that, then obviously the church is not Israel.

Let's again address the question.

What's that got to do with the church being Israel? The question is: Is the church now Israel? Alan says no, Sidney says yes. Paul, in Romans 11 contrasts the nations with national Israel. He never says the nations/gentiles are Israel. He says Israel is blinded until the last of the nations/gentiles has "come in". Then the blinders will be lifted.

My first question to you is "who will have the blinders removed to see that Christ is the risen Son of the Living God after the last member of the gentiles/nations has been saved"? Hint: the believing gentiles/nations are the body of Christ/ecclesia/the church.

Second question is: Who are the gentiles/nations provoking to jealousy?

Thanks,

alan

Let's continue.

Romans 11
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

We've already covered this. I think you agree that Paul is referring to national Israel as the ones who are blinded. ie the blood descendants of Abraham here.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Paul is quoting Isaiah 59:20-21 here. God says He will not forsake them. This covenant will not be broken.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

This should show you that Paul is still talking about blood descendants of Abraham. Though they are presently enemies of the gospel , But concerning election "They are beloved for the father's sakes." Is the believing ecclesia enemies of the gospel?

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

First the body of Christ obtained mercy, then following them, national Israel will obtain mercy.

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Thanks Sidney.

Sidney, Alan is right, you need to stop fighting the Holy Spirit, a revelation is before you, like the disciples that were walking down the road to Emmaus ....

Passage Luke 24:32:
And they said to one another, Were not our hearts greatly moved and burning within us while He was talking with us on the road and as He opened and explained to us the Scriptures?

Sidney, God will not continually strive with those who resist his Holy Spirit ... knowingly....

Peace,

Ted
