"I don't mind the Sunnis killing the Shiites. What I can't tolerate is giving Al Qaeda the victory...." That is most unlikely. (Al Qaeda will be slaughtered as soon as we are out of the area. They have been used to a certain extent as shock troops by various Sunni tribal factions - well funded and resupplied by Saudi and Gulf Arab monies - and are not particularly 'liked' by the locals... even the Sunnis who tolerate them as long as they are there fighting the occupying Americans.)
