If this Yen ever corrects it very well could take out the US equity market IMO. i thought that it was interesting that VIX was up and markets down but the Yen was just as weak as ever. i think it was due to the bear sterns hedge fund problems, but not certain. Could be a buying (equity) opportunity if interests rates stay steady or cruise lower. that's my take. BTW my last post to u was really my own frustration about this carry trade that i felt should have popped or corrected by now. in no way was it meant to be disrespectful.
