Hardly. Messianic has a general meaning but it derives from the Jewish Messiah. It would be a perversion to call Islamic Jihad's totalitarian attacks messianic. dictionary.reference.com

It's more superstitious than religious. I allow that religious ideas include things we don't know about, but we act on because they are the best we have to go on.

For example, I'm not superstitious, but I think there's a teleological aspect to existence both of a DNA variety and the billiard ball world - it's coming from somewhere [a black hole] and going to somewhere [we don't know where we're going but we're on our way].

Based on something I don't know, I'm working to create something I have no idea about. But what I do seems to be the best idea at the time. Sometimes that idea changes. It's definitely a work in progress. My wonderful Globalstar for example wasted $4 billion in efforts due to greedy and stupid marketing.

Totalitarian is what Islam is about. No need to think. No need to try to get it right. Just read the centuries old book and kneel down like sardines pointing to Mecca. Hack off the heads of infidels and apostates. Stone to death anyone else who seems to be failing to comply with edicts.
