Don't get me started on that topic.

I preach to people about it all the time.
I upped our limits to $2million.
Your UM or UIM coverage can't be higher than
your liability limits, but it protects YOU.

I've handled two wrongful death cases for the plaintiffs in the last several years where the decedent was carrying no more that 25/30 in liability and UM/UIM coverages. It made me sick since the offending driver in one case had the very same coverage. In the other, there were multiple vehicles, so the recovery totalled over $125,000, but the value of the claim far exceeded that amount.

I literally send out email memos at my firm from time to time reminding people about the stupidity of carrying low limits. In L.A. in particular, the odds of being crippled by an uninsured or underinsured driver are up there. I don't know how anyone could sleep at night knowing their family members were out there on the roads with inadequate coverage.
