We've usually dealt with back up alarm cases with forklifts...
The problem is that in some environments too many backup alarms can cause confusion. A car in a driveway is a different story.

And who goes behind their vehicle to see if anything is behind it before getting in, buckling the seat belt, turning on the car, putting it in reverse and backing up. So much can happen between doing the first and doing the last.

Hard, I know, but it pays parents (especially of small children) to know where their kids are at all times.
