Saw a special last night on the Ice road to the 40 billion diamond mine outside of yellowknife. They run 10,000 loads in 60 days over 350 miles on mostly frozen lakes. It takes 10 million and 30 days to build the road each year, just to have it melt in the spring and it is dangerous. If one goes to fast they create waves which break the ice and the truck sinks into the water. Lots of deaths. When I used to teach climbing in the high Sierra, they have a golden trout that only lives above 8500 feet. They are pretty cool and remind my of brook trout (a char) in size and the slightly pinkish flesh.
