Not at all. Ethics is what it's about. Self-interest and ethics don't have any problems living together. In fact, ethics are great for self-interest. That's what makes humans humans instead of chimpoid.

Most people are more like chimps [about 80% I guess, once they are dealing with people outside their friends and family]. They don't deal in ethics. They vote to take OPM for their own purposes, against the will of the others. They will force people to work for them for low or no pay. That's unethical. It's slavery by another name.

By force I mean do it or I will attack you. Force is not, "Do it or I won't pay you and you can go somewhere else". Some people can't understand the difference. They are usually the slave driving thieves.
