Republicans are as wasteful in managing our government as Democrats. What you stated was true at one time, but they both spend too much now.

We have a huge deficit and both parties are spending our money irresponsibly...the only observation I have is that partisans only complain about the opposing party spending and ignore the earmarks of their party...that is poor fiscal management and voters are enabling this irresponsibility. The parties are making fools of the voters.

With the money that they know will follow their career as President, the $400,000 annually is irrelevant...look at how rich Clinton has become since leaving office. That is factored in by those running.
