Here's a renewable energy company I just came across that sounds promising: Syntroleum Corp. (SYNM). These sorts of companies could experience very high growth rates in coming years, especially if traditional oil gets really expensive after peak oil (like 3 to 4 times more expensive than today's relatively expensive oil prices). If you don't like $3.00/gallon gasoline, just wait until it is selling for $9.00 to $12.00 per gallon. Demand for synthetic fuels will skyrocket in the post peak oil world.

There are other companies developing similiar waste to oil technologies, Startech Environmental Corp. (STHK.OB) is one that comes to mind, but being a OTC:BB stock makes me weary of them.
