I used to get really severe cramping in the muscles in my hands- it would actually warp my hand, making a "dent" in half of it- potassium helped me. The doctor suggested I might be running short on it- but I did see a doctor about it:

I also eat a lot of vinegar now, because it helps to manage my husband's diabetes, and it's just plain good for you (and tasty too). So that may have helped also.

Since so many things can cause cramping, you might want to get a full workup if you haven't had one in a while. If you just had a physical, try a few of the home remedies- they certainly won't hurt you.
