We know that, in fact most people probably know that but, in this new world where democratically-elected governments and international law mean nothing, what Fatah has provided is an attack-dog whereby USrael can wage war against the Palestinians without lifting a finger or being accused of harming them. In fact, Olmert is going to pay Abbas the Palestinian tax revenues which he has confiscated for over a year just to show how much he "loves" Arabs.

I disagree. Fatahstine provides Israel with the ideal excuse why it (Israel) never has to say it's sorry for anything or will ever have to negotiate a "peace deal" with the Palestinians. Fatahstine, which is the de facto creation of the Palestinians themselves, cannot possibly negotiate on behalf of all the Palestinians for any "two state" solution when there are now, effectively, three states. Hence all Israel has to do to keep whatever land etc it wants is to see to it that Hamastine and Fatahstine remain forever -- and bad friends. In my opinion therefore, Fatahstine is the best thing that has happened to Israel for a very long time.
