And after 16 days away from SI, the SUNW thread has 4 posts, the Compendium of Liberal Fiction has 694, the Foreign Affairs Discussion Group has 993, and, once again, in first place, it's Ted's Thread with 1,537 posts! I guess I'll just have to skip those and wait for the new stuff to appear....

I'm very comfortable with choice. I just don't think we should make the choice to kill other humans. So you are against the death penalty? I'm on the fence about the death penalty. To more accurately reflect my views you could change my initial statement to "I just don't think we should make the choice to kill other innocent humans. OTOH I'm not so sure you are comfortable with choice. Sure you like choice in this particular issue, but your rather comfortable with having more and more choices made by government. How so? You support having more and more decisions about how money is spent being made by government than by private citizens, with more and more government programs, and more extensive regulation. I believe you oppose allowing people the choice to use drugs, or exchange money for sex. I don't think you have a problem with governments removing the choice of restaurant, bar, and club owners to allow smoking in their facility. That's just a start. I didn't search through your 70,000+ posts to look for examples, I'm just going from what I remember.
