That is the problem. Humans, or their close cousins, covered the globe 10's of thousands of years ago. If not longer. And just about every square inch has changed hands many, many times.

And a lot of people don't like that it's that way and would like to change things.

I'm not saying we should give it back; it's several generations ago already. However, I can understand bitterness on the part of the Mexicans who lost out on what turned out to be some really good land.
