I'd agree with your two points. Further, Bush may have adversely affected the appeal of conservatism, even though he ain't one.

No...that is the unfortunate truth....his budgetary and immigration policies are insane.

Tax cuts, USSC judges and the original decision to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, although the wars have not been handled as well as they should have been....
