I don't know about this being one with the waves, the hill, etc.. did a lot of skiing. water skiing, sailing and canoeing. I don't know if I was an adversary of nature, and my equipment or a co-operator. I know what they are talking about when they saying being in the zone. These type of sports really do put one in a zen like trance of the moment. I could always visualize each move I would make in a race in about the same time it took to do it in practice. But the oneness bit I could never visualize, or transfer metaphorically. Perhaps it has to do with what I see is a sense of flow, or a progression of events that does not require forethought, but unfolds in a way that is almost pre-ordained, of 'on autopilot'.

One thing is for sure, markets are instinctive, but you never, never, never - want to BE the market. That is the end, my friend.

It brings me to my long held conviction that in fact the retail market is still weak. Bre-X and the fall in gold price did it in a bit too much, just when it was beginning to revive with a new crowd. If the conservatives get their way with lifetime free capital gains tax you could see a real resurgence. I fear the liberals and NDP will not allow them to it. They still drive the government.
