People have a tendency to assume reasonable behavior. Traffic safety departments have begun to leave new roadways with unposted speeds when they open. It turns out that people tend to go safe speeds naturally. Some new roads have had speed determined by the drivers. They clock everybody and set it at the top speed that 80% to 90% drive at.

People still ignore speed limit signs. People run stop signs. People pilot boats without proper licensing. People tear safety labels off pillows. People take illegal drugs. Others drive drunk.

"When did we start thinking that we can just ignore laws?"

Rush or one of his guest hosts was talking about a survey of illegals in which many said they would not bother going home if that was a requirement to become a legal resident.

Oh yes, my original point was this: The more laws one has to follow the greater the probability that people will find the totality onerous and begin selectively obeying them, thus diminishing the legal authority.
