Using industrial wax in food industry is being taught by the US. China is just a late comer.

Many cucumbers, apples, green/red peppers, tomatoes, etc... sold in the US grocery stores have been wiped by a layer of industrial wax, mixed with preserves and other freshness-keeping chemicals.
