No, I'm saying that it is possible to design wood houses that can withstand tornadoes and hurricanes. Standard woodframe houses don't cut it.

If I lived in a hurricane zone like my sister does, I'd try to get a house specifically designed to withstand hurricanes, and I'd pick the cheapest material that could meet the challenge.

Her house survived a hurricane, with the exception of a metal screened-in courtyard, which went bye bye. Others in her neighborhood did not fare so well.
