I heard about these guys on the radio today. They install solar panels for retailers. They don't charge anything, they just bill for the electricity produced... and the retailer can use the solar thing for PR. Walgreen's is testing it in 20 stores.

Now if this were to catch on it could be something else. Utilities are unhappy because they are esentially buying electricity at retail prices. And the model only works in states with net metering laws.

Still... things are happening that nobody was talking about just a few years ago. The momentum is growing and if it gets some more political support things could start changing very fast. And that would be very good for the country.
