The only power the low wage worker has ever had is his scarcity. In fact that's the ONLY power in a capitalist society. It's unfortunate, but the worth of an individuals labor in the US always comes down to supply/demand. If there were 12 million brain surgeons they would probably make minimum wage. If there were 10 guys who could play golf like Tiger Woods he wouldn't have made $110 Million last year. If there were only 10 electricians in the US they would make $Billions. Flood the market and you lower unit value. Restrict supply and you raise unit value. It's really pretty simple.
