I think we should have secure borders and LEGAL immigration. I just don't think any fence will provide that. A wall would be better, a canal with a wall in the middle even more so. A virtual video and sensor "fence" with 24 hour quick response teams every 25 miles (covering 12.5 miles on each side) would be even better. Why is it that you think a fence will stop people willing to break the law? A fence is really just a symbol - if it's not respected, it won't stop a person determined to cross it.
